What we have here is a graphical rundown of the top four smartphone platforms and their respective app stores, stripped of all secrets and stacked against each other to see which one excels in which department.
There are a number of interesting highlights being revealed, such as the fact that Android’s Play Store handles the most downloads of apps, but most users have never paid over $1 for an app. As a consequence, the 2013 app revenue for Play Store was fairly close to Windows Phone’s Marketplace revenue.
